Peewees Bring Home Banner!
 
 — Congratulations to our U12 Peewee squad for winning the Mark Whyte Memorial Tournament this past weekend, January 14-16th. The Regulators defeated the Vail Mountaineers Peewee team by a final score of 4-2 to wrap up the Championship on Monday. With wins over the LV Jr. Wranglers(4-2), AZ Hockey Union(5-3), Colorado Springs AHA(6-1) and Santa Clara Blackhawks(5-0), the Regulators wrapped up the weekend going undefeated. Way to go Regs!

 — Regulators Hockey would like to congratulate former coach Rikard Gronborg on winning the IIHF U20 World Championship gold medal. You make us very proud! Best of luck in the future.

Dylan Wells Signs w Providence College!!!
 
 — Dylan Wells became the latest former Regulator to sign a Division 1 letter of intent. Dylan has signed with Providence College of the Hockey East Conference. Wells played in Salt Lake in 2009-10 and nearly led the Regulators to the National Tournament. He posted a .960 Save Percentage at the Rocky Mtn Regional tournament, where the 18's lost in the final minute of the Championship game. Dylan grew up playing in Tennessee for Nashville Flyers, before moving west to pursue his hockey career. After leaving the Regulators, Dylan played Juniors in Austin, Mn, Manitoba, and Alberta. So far this season, Dylan has a .914 save percentage, 3 shutouts, and a 2.48 GAA in 24 games for the Bonneyville Pontiacs. Wells will attend Providence starting in the Fall of 2012. Congratulations to the Wells' Family, and a big Thank you to Dylan for representing our program! Good Luck!

Olkinoura Get´s 5th Win for DU

Olkinoura Gets 5th Win for DU

                Jussi Olkinoura made his 14th appearance on Saturday night, for the Denver University Pioneers. DU took on in State rival Air Force on New Years Eve in Colorado Springs. The match up pitted 2 former Regulator’s teammates against one another. (Alex Halloran, AF and Jussi DU) Jussi’s Denver squad beat Alex’s Falcon’s, 7-1. Jussi made 26 saves on 27 shots. The win gave Jussi a 5-5-2 overall record. Jussi has played the most minutes in net, made the most saves, and leads DU with a .925 save percentage!!!

                In the NAHL, former Regulator Captain, Chase McDonald is enjoying his final junior hockey season with the Austin Bruins. Currently, Chase has 10 points in 27 games. Austin currently sits third in the NAHL’s Central division with 39 points in 32 games.

In the WSHL, former Regulator Skyler Metcalf is enjoying a great season with the Park City Moose. In 26 games, Skyler has 15 points and leads his squad with 113 PIM’s. Skyler had 2 goals and an assist in Park City’s last win on December 18th in Dallas.

Regulators U18 AAA´s Ready For Detroit
 
 —  The Utah Regulators U18 Tier 1 team is getting ready to travel to Detroit, Michigan for the Harrow Invitational Tournament. The team will play thier first game of the weekend on Friday November 4th against Belle Tire(Detroit). On Saturday, the Regulators play the Detroit Falcons and the Pittsburgh Jr Pens. The other teams in the U18 division are Maksymum Hockey(Detroit), and London(Ontario).  Semifinals will be on Sunday morning.
 The U18's will get two Assistant Captains back on the ice this weekend. Dave Barnes will be coming back from a 3 game suspension, and Lucky Shultz will be coming back from an injury. Coach Mike Adamek stated "We've had some real high energy practices lately and I know our boys are chomping at the bit to earn more respect for their team and program.  I can't wait to see that translate onto game ice!"
